Muhammad Idrees Dahiri: The Notable Scholar and Poet of Sindh

Allama Muhammad Idrees Dahiri is an eminent Islamic scholar, writer, preacher, author, poet and researcher of Sindh, Pakistan. He is famous Hanafi, Maturidi, and belongs to the Naqshbandi Mujaddidi sufi order. He is a proposed khalifa (deputy) of Hazrat Khwaja Allah Bakhsh Abbasi Naqshbandi and presently of Hazrat Khwaja Muhammad Tahir Bakhshi Naqshbandi. He also owns Ijazah in Shadhiliand Alawi sufi orders.

Tariqat

Being a scholar, he 1st stepped into the Naqshbandi tariqah by taking oath of allegiance with Sheikh Allah Bakhsh Abbasi Naqshbandi of the province Sindh, and got Khilafat (Ijazah) on the day of 18 Rabi-us-Sani 1405 AH. In the Alawi sufi order, he got Ijazah from Shaykh Zain ibn Ibrahim Sameet al-Alawi of Makkah, SA, and in the Shadhili sufi order, he owns Ijazah from Sheikh Fahmi of Madinah, SA.

Speeches

Muhammad Idrees Dahiri is an influential Islamic speaker and delivers speeches in several parts of Rural Sindh and various urban areas. He mostly delivers lectures in the language of Sindhi, but also sometimes speaks in Urdu when invited in urban places where most people are Urdu speaking.

Books

Muhammad Idrees Dahiri has wrote and authored books on several topics like Fiqh (Hanafi), Tasawwuf, biographies, and other Islamic topics. His 8-volume Tafsir of the Holy Quran is believed to be one of the very few complete Tafsirs in the language of Sindhi. Most of his books are in the language of Sindhi. He is also a popular poet of Sindhi and has written the proposed poetry on the Islamic themes. Most well-known parts of his poetry are Naat (praise of Prophet Muhammad) and Manqabat (praise of his Sheikh Hazrat Khwaja Muhammad Tahir).
Muhammad Idrees Dahiri is also a famous translator and has translated few of the classical works of popular scholars of the province Sindh, like Allama Makhdoom Muhammad Hashim Thattvi and Sheikh Abul-Hasan Dahiri.
