Naseer Soomro: A Renowned Bilingual Poet of Sindh
Naseer Soomro (Sindhi: نصیر سومرو born on March 28, 1964) is a famous bilingual poet of the languages Sindhi and Urdu.
Early life and education
He is a famous author and all his works / books that are published officially named by Naseer Soomro. This name is also highlighted in the Oxford English-Sindhi Dictionary published by Oxford University Press, Karachi as an Assistant to editorial team of translators, editors, and proof readers. He also worked in Oxford University Press, Karachi with a famous writer of Sindh Mr. Badar Abro as a freelance editor.
His life sketch and biography with all of his primary details is written and mentioned in the Encyclopedia Sindhianavolume-8, published and compiled by Sindhi Language Authority, Hyderabad Pakistan. As well as his profile is highlighted in book of Mukhtiar Mallah “Sindhi Adab Jo Mukhtsar Jaezo”, Naseer Soomro as a contemporary poet of the language of Sindh.
Naseer Soomro’s initial days were passed in his hometown Hingorja, an area that is located in the former state of Khairpur of the Mirs, who governed the province of Sindh by dividing in its 3 administrative units, thereof, the cities Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas were the units other than the Khairpur state.
His official and family name is Naseer Ahmad Soomro and born at the house of Allah Bakhsh Soomro, who was by profession a carpenter and well-known religious scholar, a public figure too, famously known by name Moulvi Allah Bakhsh Soomro, alias Mulla Loang.
As far as, formal education is regarded, till matriculation, Naseer got education at Hingorja, intermediate in the field of per-engineering from the Government Degree College, Kandiaro, province of Sindh. Later, he acquired his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Metallurgy from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro Hyderabad, Sindh province.
